ABOUT ME

                                     



Idesta Severin  is a professional with over 13 years of experience in program management and business operations. She currently manages financial services initiatives at a New York City based non-profit organization. Idesta has a reputation for leading her teams in a cohesive manner that delivers value for organizations. 

Outside of work, 
Idesta helps to bring solar and wind energy throughout Latin America & Caribbean. Over the last two years, she has been involved in projects that harness the power of renewable energy technology to advance economic pathways for communities all around the world. Most recently in Peru, where she completed a wind turbine manufacturing project that brought off-grid electricity to 2000 homes and in Nicaragua, where she completed installation of a solar irrigation system for a 1000Acre community cooperative farm. 

In her formative years, Idesta became fascinated with how electricity works as grew up in a rural environment.  Her vision is to see local community's own parts of their electricity generating capacity, which will create long-term opportunities to build wealth. 

This passion extends to the classroom, where Idesta now teaches Mathematics and Engineering courses at SUNY's Westchester Community College. Idesta holds an Master's in Business Administration & a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. She Volunteers at Grid Alternatives Inc as well as Habitat for Humanity, building and electrifying affordable homes for her community.
